Child Protection

The Universal Children’s Day celebration was made possible with generous funding from European Commission - Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection - ECHO. It also supports our child protection programming in refugee camps across Bengeshangul -Gumuz and Somali National Regional States.

With funding from the IKEA Foundation, Save the Children works with local partners and the government to improve and expand shelters for children on the move like this one in Addis Ababa.

Members of the Hamer community were gathered, along with three of their clan leaders, to declare their commitment to abandon the harmful traditional practices.

Save the Children in Ethiopia has organized an Africa-wide program learning event on Children Without Appropriate Care (CWAC) in Addis Ababa from April 20 – 23, 2015.
