On July 29, 2018, Hawassa Field Office staff took part in the national ‘Leave Your Green Legacy Movement” by planting over 200 seedlings around the field office area. In addition, the staff planted 300 trees on August 1 at a youth center located 4km away from their office. 

On July 30, 2019, the Ethiopia Cash Working Group comprising UN Agencies and International NGOs held its monthly meeting at Save the Children Country Office.  Save the Children is a leading agency, steering member and co-chair for the Group since January 2019.

The remnants of poverty are visible on Beyenech’s face, a mother to two-year old Selam who lives in Tahtay Koraro Woreda, western Tigray. Despite years of hardship, Beyenech exudes great hopefulness as she tells her story. “I am a single mother,” she begins, “Selam is my only child. I work at the village mill to support her.”
