Call for Concept Notes Education Cannot Wait Seed Funding Ethiopia Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) 2020-2023 UNICEF Ethiopia and Save the Children Ethiopia

UNICEF and Save the Children invite interested partners based in Ethiopia to submit Concept Notes to implement the Education Cannot Wait facilitated Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) for the period of July 2020 to July 2023.

Ethiopia’s MYRP (2020-2023) plans to improve learning through equitable access, crisis-sensitive, quality and relevant education for 745,997 emergency-affected children (380,418 boys, 365,579 girls (including children living with disabilities) in 44 prioritised woredas in Ethiopia.

With Seed Funding from ECW, the programme will focus interventions on addressing the critical educational needs of 60,487 out of school displaced children (30,717 boys, 29,770 girls) in 81 schools, 17 woredas and 3 regions (Amhara, Oromia and Somali).

This is a common call for Concept Notes by UNICEF and Save the Children. Applicants are requested to specify the geographical areas of interest. UNICEF is Grantee responsible for Oromiya and Amhara regions, and Save the Children is Grantee responsible for Somali region.

  • Partners interested in Oromiya and or Amhara regions are invited to submit their Concept Notes to UNICEF by email to: dminogue@unicef.org ,  Cc’ing pbagambe@unicef.org
  • Partners interested in Somali region are invited to submit their Concept Notes to Save the Children by email to:  sisay.dejene@savethechildren.org
  • Partners applying for funding to implement in Somali region AND Amhara/Oromia must submit two separate Concept Notes, one to Save the Children for the Somali region, and one to UNICEF for Amhara and/or Oromiya.

 Deadline for submission of concept notes is 6th April 2020.

Concept notes from Applicants must meet eligibility criteria. Concept notes will be reviewed by a Partner Selection Committee, based on the recommendations of the committee and endorsement by the Steering Committee, applicants who are successful at concept note stage will be invited to submit full proposals.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply in Consortiums especially with Local NGO/s and/or civil society organisations wherever possible.
