Ethiopia takes the lion’s share of East Africa expenditure in 2013

Save the Children Ethiopia Country Office (EtCO) has spent 102.4 million USD, which constitutes 50% of the East Africa’s region expenditure, in 2013. The country office achieved its plan with high performance, as its plan in the fiscal year was to spend $105,434,935. The East African financial bulletin also shows that the Ethiopia country office records the lowest non-thematic cost from the region. Dollo Ado registered the highest field offices spend ($ 11.6 million). EtCO also plans to spending 81 million USD in 2014.

Save the Children staff distribute new school books to children enrolled in Save the Children’s Alternative Basic Education programme (ABE) for Somali refugees in Heleweyn camp, Dollo Ado, Ethiopia; which will ensure that children who have been unable to access education are able to catch up via a consolidated curriculum. 11.6 million USD has been spent in Dollo Ado Refugee Camp in 2013, which is the highest field office expenditure in East African Region
