|A teacher at Guya elementary school, Asmamaw Mekonnen has also servedas a principal at this school for the last two years. Water has been a scarce resource in the community of Guya Village in the Afar Region which has also impacted children’s access to education.
|Case Study of Dobuol Riang Gambella, Ethiopia June 2014
|Dobuol Riang is a 22 year old young man. He came to Letichor camp on April 24, 2014 from a place called Malakal, from Nassir County in South Sudan. He fled his country due to the recent fighting that occurred in December, 2013. He was separated from his stepmother that was with him at the time. He also lost his father which was killed during the war. He walked on his knees for two weeks before soldiers helped him to get to Pagak and later transferred to Letichor camp in Gambella. He currently works for Save the Children as a facilitator in the Child Friendly Space that Save the Children has established.

|Nyamuoch Koang, 17 years old has become head of seven of her siblings due to the fight that had broken out in their country of origin of South Sudan in December, 2013. She was separated from her mother and uncle and fled with her brothers and sisters. After 11 days of long walk, she entered to Ethiopia through Burbeiy. They currently reside in Letichor refugee camp in Gambella region.

|Muru Mohammed is currently seven months pregnant and has a two year old son Andahey Ahmed. Her husband lives in Asayita Woreda which is 170 kms away from Elidaar where she currently lives with her son.

|Rabia Ahmed, 24 has been working for Save the Children as OTP officer for the last two months in Elidaar District, in Afar Region. She mainly provides technical support to health posts and health centres to properly treat children and mothers with moderately acute malnutrition.

|Fatuma Mussa is living on the side of the highway connecting Djibouti to Semera town in Afar region lives with her husband and her son Mohammed Issey in their dome-shaped hut. The village where Fatuma lives is severely affected by shortage of water which has forced them to entirely depend on water trucking that is provided by government and non-government organizations like Save the Children.
