Wednesday 8 February 2017

Zenebu Hadis, 23, is girl from Simret Kebele, Endamehoni Woreda of Tigray region. Despite having a diploma in Construction Work and being certified, she had no job. This meant she had to stay at home and help her family with domestic chores.

Zenebu’s life started to change following the trainings from POTENTIAL. She says, “I didn’t know how to find a job and I did not know how to write a CV before POTENTIAL. However, after the trainings, I became familiar with these things. This helped me get employment as a book shop keeper in Maychew town.” At this job, she is making 800 Birr a month.

Zenebu took 15,000 Birr loan from Dedebit Saving & Credit Institution and started a cattle and sheep rearing business at home. She expects her cow and three sheep to give birth soon. Because of this, her capital has now reached 25,000 Birr. Zenebu says her biggest success, however, is to be able to come out of the kitchen and earn her own income. Her long-term goal is to become a contractor.
